Child porn distributor sentenced to eight years following FBI hint

Port Elizabeth Regional Court has sentenced a 42-year-old Port Elizabeth man who appeared on the charges of possession and distribution of child pornography.


He pleaded guilty to these charges in August.

On Thursday, he was sentenced to eight years in jail.

He admitted to making use of children for pornography which he distributes them via his Twitter account.

Budden was arrested after a 40-year-old man from Krugersdorp, Gauteng was accused for the same crime.

The man from Gauteng made use of his own minor children and relatives’ children to display sexual activities.

The 40-year-old allegedly implicated Budden when he told investigators that Buden was also involved.

He was arrested in August 2019.

During the court hearing on Thursday, magistrate Kenny Cooney said 24 graphic images formed part of the docket before court.

Cooney explained that Budden was not directly manufacturing of the images but he aided the manufacturers by distributing them.

“Budden aided in the degrading of children by distributing the images,” Cooney said.

Budden was sentenced to 12 years in prison, four of which were suspended for five years.

Budden’s name has been included in the national sexual offenders register.

He has also being ordered to be restricted to work with children denied possession of firearm.
