Cassper Nyovest on HHP – Jabba used to swear on me on the phone…

Cassper Nyovest speaks more of the shock he received from the news of HHP’s death. During the memorial service held at Johannesburg, Cassper was one of the artists who paid tribute to Jabba by sharing moments and memories he had with late music icon.

The rapper revealed in an interview with East Coast Radio’s Drive team how unbelievable the death news is to him.

He said; “I go through so many emotions throughout the day. I’m still numb. It still feels like a dream because it was so sudden – it’s not like he was sick and in hospital.”

“The first time I cried was at the memorial when they played one of my favourite songs from him. It was a song that I really loved, and to think I’ll never ever speak to him about this song. Then I broke down.”

“Last night I was just sitting in my bed and I’m like: ‘Maybe I should have called him that day’,” he added.

“Our relationship was not only music, we were like brothers. Even when we fought, we were fighting about more than just music and the industry. We had real disagreements. Jabba used to swear at me on the phone, and I couldn’t swear back because it’s my brother.”

“I’m just glad that before this happened we kind of had a conversation and I told him one more time that: ‘I love you and I appreciate you, and I appreciate everything that you’ve ever done for me and I’ll never forget’.”
