AKA has given us more to talk about ahead of his concert, “Orchestra On The Square”, as he’s officially changed name to King Forbes.
The star revealed that he’s about breaking out of SA by going global and he needs a name that suits his breakthrough.
“I don’t know hey … I’m tryna break outside of South Ahh … for them “AKA” is a bit lame. I mean, KIERNAN FORBES or KEENAN FORBES, or “KING FORBES” sounds a bit better don’t you think … actually yah … King Forbes actually sounds lit.”
The rapper had more to explain in relation tot he name vi thread of tweets:
“KING FORBES” sounds lekker don’t you think? I mean, you guys will always know me as “AKA” or whatever but yeah I think that’s a better name for global domination … pinky and the brain vibes …

I mean, I’ve done it all here in south ahh you know … I rate “King Forbes” is like … more relatable for the world takeover …

Yah mate … i rate that’s it hey … I’m changing my name to “KING FORBES” … AKA had a good run.
— AKA (@akaworldwide) February 26, 2019
I mean, my last name is actually “Forbes” … how can I NOT use that.
— AKA (@akaworldwide) February 26, 2019
KING FORBES. That’s it.

However, the news of the change of name attracted some controversial comments from fans.
“AKA” is the perfect name to go international. The word ‘king’ is overused in stage names. And what’s trending now is the art of not trying to hard. Kendrik lamar – damn. Almost the entire album is one word titled songs. Tyga – taste. Etc. Trust me. People listen to me.

AKA is a brand.. isn’t changing the name gonna hurt the brand? Just a question

But then the style of music has to be different, so we can differentiate between the sounds…
