Just after it was announced that South Africa Music Awards will honour late music icon HHP on her upcoming music award 2019, Lerato Sengadi, wife to the late star, took to social media to pour out her bag of emotions.
In a lengthy note, Lerato who lost her husband to death last year, 2018, expressed her joy for the recognition received by SAMA25. She also spoke of keeping up HHP’s legacy.
Lerato also shared a snap of HHP when he received SA Traditional Music Awards (Satmas) back in 2017.
“This was 2017. Motho receiving his Lifetime Achievement Award from the @satmaawards. It meant a lot to him because he believed dearly in the preservation of indigenous sounds & language. Fast forward to 2019 – I AM INSANELY PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THAT MOTHO WILL BE RECEIVING A LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD FROM RiSA DURING THIS YEARS @thesamas_! Making him the FIRST hip hop artist to receive one and the YOUNGEST solo recipient of this prestigious recognition!”
“I feel BEYOND blessed to have played a role in making this happen for him. But honestly he did it! This is all him. I’m just a vessel, executing a calling. I am a bag of emotions but mostly I am beaming at my King’s accomplishments & bravery. Motho, this is only the beginning… I promise!” She revealed.
