Popular Muvhango actor Macdonald Tshifhiwa Ndou, who plays the character of KK is expected to appear in the Booysens Magistrates Court today after being nabbed with two other men on charges of extortion, corruption, theft and kidnapping.

According to Sunday World, the actor languished in freezing cold police cells after being bust by the Hawks on Friday.

This after the trio allegedly impersonated police officers and allegedly tried to extort a R100,000 bribe from a Gauteng businessman by threatening to arrest him for illegal diamond trading.

Rumours of his arrest have flooded the timeline but to clarify, MacDonald was never formally arraigned in a court of law. While the other suspects appeared in the Booysens Magistrate Court on Monday, McDonald’s charges were actually formally withdrawn pending further investigation.

The Hawks confirmed in court, though, that Ndou is still a person of interest in the case. The Muvhango actor is yet to comment on the matter himself, however, the SABC2 soapie dished out a note to their fans over the issue.

The note says fans should avoid “premature conclusions based on speculation and hearsay” and added that Ndou is still “very much a valued member of the Muvhango family”.
