Lira reveals major concern about her look-alike Barbie doll – Details

on

SA singer Lira has got the whole of Mzansi proud with her new achievement as Barbie’s first African role model.

Lira revealed she’s honoured and thrilled with the huge opportunity given.

However, she revealed that before the doll was completed, she had 2 major concern, which is the skin tone and hair, as other Barbies have long hair but she is on low cut.

According to TshishaLIVE: Lira admits that when she was first approached by Mattel, she was a bit worried about how they’d replicate her natural hair. “Truly my concern was always my hair. You think to yourself, you’ve got short hair … Barbies have long flowing hair, and so how’s that going to work?,” she said in a Jacaranda FM interview.

Lira further emphasized on Instagram: “It’s been a long day for baby girl and I. I think this counts as one of my favourite days this year! Thank you for all your love, support and congratulations – it was an historic day indeed! Thank you once again to @barbie for this honour – I’m a real African Barbie, and the very first one in the continent.”
