Singer, Kelly Khumalo spills out reason why she opt out of the late singer, Lebo Mathosa’s new biopic during an interview on Metro FM.
During the interview which held on Thursday, Kelly said she withdrew from the production due to the poor working conditions.
…my problem is the conditions. You know when you are in the bathroom and the bathrooms are dirty, there’s no change rooms and when you complain you get told that you are a diva,” she explained to the show’s hosts, Thomas and Pearl.
“For me it got to a point where who I am couldn’t take it,” she explained.
Speaking to City Press, Legend Manqele whose company has partnered with Kelly Khumalo to reposition her brand, confirmed the same poor condiiton just as the singer had complained.
“Kelly felt that working under these conditions was limiting her ability to honour the talented icon that was Lebo Mathosa and execute a sound performance,” he told the publication.
Kelly further revealed to City Press that; “I know my self-worth. I am at a point in my life where I have recognised the importance of representing myself the best way I can possible do.”
However, it was revealed that KB Motsilanyane would replace her and Kelly also dropped her latest single which took her extra effort.
“@msaki_za@nduduzomakhathini@batundimusic I couldn’t have done this without you. Thank you,” Kelly captioned the cover of the new song titled, Undithatha Kancinci.
