SA rapper, Yanga Chief recalls how he completely gave up on making music last year before his recent win.
The star was over the moon on Wednesday evening, when he walked home with the Song of the Year awards at the SA Hip-Hop awards 2019.
Taking to Twitter to appreciate his supporters he said:
“Last year I quit making music completely. My supporters refused to give up on me and so I decided to make one last smash, uTatakho! You guys took this song to the top and you took me with it. This is for us, this for King Dalindyebo. Queenstown we got 1!”
Many, including celebrities congratulated him for holding on. Solo who is also a singer said to him:
“Congratulations my bro @ItsYangaChief. I hope you tell your whole story one day. This level of persistence is what needs to be followed .”
