SA stars join the rest of South Africans in celebrating Youth Day 2020 and many have taken us down history.
The fallen heroes whose lives were lost during the fight for freedom are celebrated annually.
While some pen down thoughtful notes, a few others like Zahara dedicated a song to the fallen heroes.
On this day, 16 June 1976 thousands of students in Soweto protested against Bantu education and were subsequently attacked & killed by apartheid police.
We remember their bravery and courage✊🏾#YouthDay #YouthDay2020 🇿🇦

The Black experience/ struggle is not defined by a single geographical location but by its People Let’s take a moment to recognize the Black lives lost not only in South Africa but in America and all over the world. #TheSowetoUprising #Juneteenth #YouthDay2020 pic.twitter.com/0YWRKvoSG5

Let us as the youth also stand up and speak up for the injustices we see daily. On social media. In the streets. In our homes. In our country. In the world.
They did not fall so that we might sit on our hands. Rise up, Youth of South Africa. Fight for the change you want to see🇿🇦 pic.twitter.com/9yJ5p3oBmh— тнU§σ Mвє∂u (@ThusoMbedu) June 16, 2020
The Youth of 1976 did what they had to.
