Port Elizabeth doctor who tried to murder his wife last year has been sentenced to 10-years behind bars.
On Wednesday, Mkhuseli Boto was sentenced for attempted murder in Port Elizabeth Regional Court.
Last year August, the woman and her husband had an argument resulting to her moving out of the house, she later came back with her sister to fetch some of her belongings where she was attacked. A shot was fired by her husband, injuring the woman in her head, but she survived it.
The National Prosecuting Authority’s Anelisa Ngcakani said: “As the NPA, we believe that the sentence will go a long way in deterring offenders from committing all forms of violence against women and children.”
