Mzansi rapper Zakwe has reportedly hinted that he is quitting vernac rap.
The star, who raps mostly in Zulu, wants to spit in English from now on.
The move by the musician is aimed at gaining more fan base in order to reach his first gold status in his 10 years in the cut-throat music industry.
However, Zakwe is currently working on a new album after his last project titled Cebisa.
He expressed how he desperately wanted the album to go gold. It consisted of the hit track Sebentini, in which he featured Cassper Nyovest.
Nevertheless, Zakwe will from now on be quitting vernac rap and go strictly English.
It could be added that the rapper has recognized that if he also raps strictly English, he will be able to crack open the international hip-hop market.
