COVID-19 in SA: 572 new deaths reported

South Africa has reported 572 new COVID-19 related deaths in the last 24 hours.

400 of those deaths were reported in the Eastern Cape.


114 further deaths were reported in Gauteng, 35 in the Western Cape, 18 in KZN, and 5 in the Free State.

The number of confirmed cases jumped by more than 13,000.

There is now 394,948 confirmed COVID-19 cases.

However, the country’s recovery rate has improved even further to 58 percentage.

This means almost 230,000 people have already recovered.
