Somizi Mhlongo got seriously dragged by social media users all in the name of fashion.
The radio personality showed off his less-dramatic outfit for Vodacom Durban July 2020.
While Somizi gushed at his act of wearing green colour outfit in 2019 and 2020 due to the beautiful meaning attached to it, a few others got their eyes fixed on his mask.
The star’s mask was a black net material and not so obvious. It served a fashion-like purpose than protecting against COVID-19.
After viewing his post, followers expressed their disappointment.
“N95 mask is the best protection, these fashion statements won’t do you any good. I love you but protect yourself.”
“Somizi’s mask is saying Covid19 is temporary, drip is forever.”
“Wow Somizi. Always have great respect for you. But not wearing mask. This is govt order. Lot of people especially youngsters look up to you as their inspiration. Be the Somizi I always like who is respectful.”
However, the radio star is yet to react to the critics.
Here is what he had to say about his look: “Wierd that my favorite color is RED….and I ended up wearing GREEN last year and this year for the #vdj which I’ve realized the meaning of both colors …..RED: LOVE…..BLOOD THRU MY VEINS…..WARTH….STRENGTH…GREEN: WEALTH …HEALTH…ABUNDANCE….KHABISHI…DOLL.”
