South African celebrities who are Zimbabwean

A lot of things have been going on among South African celebrities but still yet, they are still giving out good vibes.


But most people might be surprised that most of the South African celebrities they see around are not actually South Africans.

Now we would be looking at few of those who are actually Zimbabwean and not South African.

SHASHA

Charmaine Shamiso “Sha Sha” Mpambiro, is a 27 year old Zimbabwean singer, song writer and performer from Mutare.

Mpambiro moved around Zimbabwe whilst growing up following her parents’ separation, often residing with her grandmother or aunts.

She later had connections with other South African Artists like DJ Maphorisa through her cab driver.

She was signed by DJ Maphorisa in 2018 till date.

 

NADIA NAKAI

Nadia Nakai is a 30 year old award winning hip-hop artist in South Africa to a Zimbabwean mother.

At the age of 16, the star changed her name to Nadia Nakai Kandava adopting her mother’s maiden name.

Her name Nakai in Zimbabwean means be beautiful.

She described her mother’s country as being part of her identity.

The rapper became the first female artist to be signed by the South African rapper, Cassper Nyovest.

 

CHI MHENDE

Chiedza Mhende is a 29 year old TV actress and voice artist who hails from Zimbabwe.

The actress rose to fame in 2015.

OSKIDO

Oscar Sibonginkosi Mdlongwa popularly known as Oskido, is 57 year old South African recording artist.

He was born in 1967 to a South African mother and a Zimbabwean father.

Oskido moved to South Africa in 1988 after finished schooling to later pursue music full time.

Oskido is the co-founder of Kalawa Jazmee Records (formerly Kalawa Records), a record label that is home to musical acts like Mafikizolo, Bongo Maffin and many other foremost groups.

KIM JAYDE

Kimberley Robinson is a 30 year old Zimbabwean model, TV presenter and MC from Zimbabwe.

Kim relocated to South Africa after completing her school.

She is also the first Zimbabwean to join for the Revlon SA Campaign in 2018.

An MTV base manager saw her on Instagram in which she was offered a job as a presenter.
