A fatal crash which occurred in the early hours of today killed four people.
The police are investigating the root cause of the fatal car crash in Delft on Saturday morning 15 August around 5:30am.
According to the police, the accident took place on the R300 after the driver lost control of the vehicle.
According to an eye witness, the car crashed into a resident’s house.
One of the four bodies landed on top of the roof of the house due to impact.
The eyewitness also said the four were on their way back from a party. Further investigations are yet to confirm this.
According to reports, the vehicle caught fire and fire rescue services were called onto the scene.
South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson Colonel Andrè Traut said the circumstances surrounding the fatal vehicle accident are being investigated.
A culpable homicide case docket has also been opened.
“Three men and one female were killed when the driver of the vehicle they were travelling in, lost control and collided with a wall of a residential property. A culpable homicide case docket has been registered,” he said.
