SA COVID-19: Recovery rate hops on 83%

In the past 24 hours, new infections have evolved and the health ministry said it recorded 2,728 new infections which brings the number of confirmed cases close to 610,000 since the month of March

So far, Gauteng have recorded the highest number of fatalities. In the past 24 hours, it recorded 41 COVID-19 deaths.


KwaZulu-Natal followed suit with a record of 12 deaths, while Eastern Cape and Western Cape recorded 11 and 8 deaths respectively.

The national death toll has hit 13,059 after the health ministry reported 72 more people who succumbed to coronavirus in South Africa.

Apparently, there is a positive side to COVID-19 in South Africa, which is the recovery rate. The recovery rate hopped to 83% from 82%.

This insinuates that over 506,000 have recovered so far.
