Bandile Masuku hopes the ongoing SIU investigation into PPE tender allegations will help justify his innocence

The Special Investigating Unit (SIU) is currently investigating a flow of corruption and irregularity allegations from health department where Masuku heads.

However, Bandile Masuku has denied reports that mentioned his involvement in awarding personal protective equipment (PPE) tenders.

The Gauteng Health MEC seems confident and very sure that his name will be cleared when SIU is done probing the department that procured COVID-19 relief contracts.

The MEC also mentioned that he has come before the ANC’s Integrity Commission and even before the SIU as well.

Reports have confirmed that Masuku stood his ground and denied directing procurement processes. He also said he never asked any official to bribe his way through the allegations.

Bandile Masuku hopes the ongoing SIU investigation into PPE tender allegations will help justify his innocence:

Our client condemns the conduct of officials who may have used his name to award tenders in the department and looks forward to the legal process currently under way by the SIU, which will eventually clear his name.”

Moreover, Masuku has warned that anyone that attempt to slander him will be sued. He insisted that he was the one that initiated the investigation into the nooks and crannies of his department’s tenders.
