Gauteng should prepare for thunderstorms-SAWS

South African Weather Service (SAWS) has warned Gauteng residents that some part of the province will experience thunderstorms on Thursday afternoon, 27 August.

SAWS forecaster Kgolofelo Mahlangu explained that the province will experience a little drop in temperature which will anchor in a warmer weather that will continue throughout this week.


She explained that despite the fact that Gauteng would witness a thunderstorm on Thursday.

She said there will be a slight change in temperature from Friday as SA moves closer to the end of the winter season.

Unlike the thunderstorms, Mahlangu explained that Southern Western Cape would welcome a weak cold front on Tuesday.

He said this will result in rainfall, spreading along the south coast and to the Eastern Cape on Wednesday.

A strong cold front is also expected in the Western Cape and Northern Cape on Friday.
