Norma drops former home affairs minister’s surname, picks maiden name

The former home affairs minister, Malusi Gigaba’s estranged wife, Norma has dropped his surname.

Norma announced on her social media page that she is going back to her maiden name.


She made this announcement on Wednesday that she would like to be referred to as Norma Mngoma.

This means she is no longer “Norma Gigaba”.

She termed the change as a “New beginning” for her.

Norma made this announcement on her Instagram page.

“Let me reintroduce this beautiful lady, who I’m crushing on her today WCW (women crush Wednesday) … Her name is Norma Mngoma,” Norma wrote.

The businesswoman also made it known that she was happy with the change.

She added “this is who I am and where I belong”.

Norma also changed all her social media handles with the hashtag #Newbeginnings.

This change comes after the politician laid charges against his estranged partner.

She allegedly damaged a R3m Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG the politician borrowed from a friend.

She is currently facing charges of malicious damage to property and crimen injuria.

She will appear before the court on September 14.
