After ANC’s appointment of Gumede to KZN MPL and asking her to resign on Friday, heavy criticism have followed suit

The African National Congress (ANC) in KwaZulu-Natal has been faced with criticism after their confused actions by appointing Zandile Gumede as KZN MPL and asking her to step down instead of firing her.

But it has denied it is not protecting Gumede, who happened to be the former eThekwini Mayor.

Gumede is currently faced with corruption charges and an integrity commission investigation.

Heavy criticism has hit the party after it appointed Gumede as MPL KZN.

It made it known that their decision was not about Gumede but about keeping their reputation and protecting their image.

This was after provincial ANC held a briefing on Friday afternoon.

However, Gumede is currently faced with charges of corruption but despite that ANC still went ahead to appoint her as an MPL last week.

Moreover, ANC secretary-general – Ace Magashule has been tied with questions unanswered and also some officials.
