A 37 year-old man have been arrested after the body of a beheaded four-year-old boy was found.
The police was shocked at the gruesome sight of the body.
The four-year-old was murdered at Xolobe administrative Area, Tsomo, Eastern Cape.
According to the police spokesperson, Captain Namhla Mdleleni, the police was informed about the incident on Thursday, 3 September.
He said the grandmother left the deceased and his seven-year-old sister with their uncle while she went to town collect her grant.
“The uncle forced the seven-year-old to go to school while the four-year-old stayed behind.”
“Upon arrival back from school, she found the body of her brother covered with a cloth, already dead.
“Police were summoned to the scene and upon arrival, members made a gruesome discovery – they found the beheaded body of the boy,” Mdleleni said.
Mdleleni said the police had to conduct a search around the premises before they found the boy’s head hanging from a tree.
He confirmed that a murder case was opened and the uncle arrested.
“He will appear before Tsomo Magistrate’s Court on Monday 7 September,” Mdleleni said.
