According to the Health Department, it reported that 115 new COVID-19 related deaths have emerged.
This brings the death toll to 14,678.
Gauteng takes the lead, with a record of 43 deaths, while Free State followed suit with a record of 18 deaths, KwaZulu-Natal with a record of 15 deaths, 12 from Eastern Cape, 12 from Limpopo, 11 from Northern Cape, and 4 from Western Cape.
As it stands, the recovery rate in South Africa stands at 557,818. This translates to a recovery rate of 88%.
Zweli Mkhize, Health Minister said a second wave of infections might come in and it looks feasible.
However, he has urged South Africans to remain responsible and ensure that they keep to social distancing, COVID-19 regulations like hand washing and wearing of face or nose masks.
