Manhunt launched for Actress Thandeka Mdeliswa’s killer

Actress Thandeka Mdeliswa who is best known for her lead role in SABC 1 popular drama series, “Ikani” was fatally shot on Thursday and died on Saturday.

Her murder was described as na act of gender-based violence.


Mpumalanga police made it known that they are searching for the man who brutally shot the actress.

Police spokesperson, Leonard Hlathi said she was shot earlier this week and died at The Steve Biko Hospital on Saturday.

“We are out and about looking for the man responsible. We are requesting information from the public to assist us.”

“Those who have information regarding this act should approach the police so we are able to put the person responsible behind bars.”

Her family was saddened by the death of their young talented daughter who they said was a victim of gender-based violence

They expressed their sorrow in a statement.

SABC conveyed its condolences to her family.

They disclosed that they were sad on hearing the news of her death caused by a gender-based violence incident.

“The South African television industry has indeed been robbed of a young, talented and promising life, violently and senselessly taken away from our society in its prime.”

News of the actress death has caused another outrage on social media condemning the senseless killing of women by men.
