A 27-year-old woman in the North West allegedly stabbed 30-year-old Christinah Ditsele in a suspected love triangle incident.
The accused is expected to appear in the Moretele magistrate’s court in the North West on Wednesday on the charges of murder.
Police spokesperson, Lt-Col Amanda Funani said the incident happened after the accused had an argument with her 22-year-old boyfriend on Monday.
He said her boyfriend fled the scene on seeing the woman returning with a knife.
“It is alleged that the suspect then saw Ditsele, whom she grabbed, pushed to the ground and stabbed in the chest.”
Ditsele was rushed to the Kutlwanong Clinic where she was confirmed dead.
“The suspect was apprehended on Monday at Cyferskuil village near Brits after she [allegedly] stabbed Ditsele with a knife in the chest.”
She was charged with murder.
North West police commissioner Lt-Gen Sello Kwena was displeased with the incident and encouraged community members to try settling their differences peacefully without resorting to violence.
