Australia announced that on Tuesday, September 15, no citizen died from coronavirus.

This is the first time in two months when no death will be recorded.

States have began to lift lockdown restrictions with the confidence that a second wave of the virus has been contained.

Officials disclosed there were 50 covid-19 cases in the past 24 hours which is a little increase from a day earlier.

They also disclosed that this is the first time there will be no fresh fatality since July 13.

Victoria was the last state to record no COVID-19 deaths on Jul 13.

About three-quarters of Australia’s covid-19 cases and 90% of the 816 coronavirus deaths recorded occurred in Victoria state.

Victoria state said 42 people were diagnosed with the virus in the past 24 hours which is a small increase from the figure posted a day earlier and below the peak of more than 700 infections detected in August.

Victoria Premier, Daniel Andrews said “it is a massive thing, it is a very positive thing”.
