Gauteng’s ANC is set to meet this weekend to look into the integrity commission report which is linked to a multimillion-rand COVID-19 PPE tender.
The report stated that the commission detected that the Gauteng Health MEC Bandile Masuku failed in ensuring a proper oversight of the PPE contracts awarded by the department.
Masuku together with his wife, Loyiso and presidential spokesperson Khusela Diko’s husband, were implicated in fraudulent activities relating to the awarded tender.
This report by the integrity commission will be considered this weekend.
Also, the future of Masuku, his wife and Diko will be discussed in the meeting.
The PIC has reportedly disclosed some allegations against the trio, but the result of the investigation has not been made public.
It’s also reported that Masuku wrote a letter to the PIC objecting to its findings.
Masuku argued that the findings don’t take into consideration the facts put before the PIC.
