The Christians of South Africa organisation want the release of Reverend Timothy Omotoso.

On Wednesday, its members will take steps toward the National Prosecuting Authority, who are demanding that all charges brought against Omotoso are dropped.

For three years, the Nigerian televangelist has been waiting for trial.

He is faced with about 97 charges, which includes human trafficking, racketeering, and rape.

According to report, Omotoso allegedly trafficked over 30 girls and women from his church.

In April, the national lockdown adjourned proceedings in the High Court in Port Elizabeth.
