Cape Town International Airport has been given the “go-ahead” to reopen for international travel on 1 October.

Transport Minister – Fikile Mbalula made it known when he visited the international airport on Thursday.

However, Mbalula made no highlights on travel regulations and said it is taking much longer than what he expects.

Apparently, an announcement should be made by next week.

The aviation industry is running on huge loss daily because of the lack of international flights and Airports Company, South Africa said it is now willing to welcome international visitors.

Before the lockdown started, Cape Town International initially do welcome about 35,000 to 45,000 passengers daily but as it stands, it is currently operating at about 25 percent capacity.
