The suspect arrested in connection to Charl Kinnear’s murder made his first appearance in court on Friday.
Zane Kilian was arrested at the Springs in Gauteng on Wednesday this week after he was implicated in the murder of the top detective.
He was moved from Gauteng to Cape Town where he is being charged for murder.
Kilian appeared in the Bishop Lavis Magistrates Court on Friday.
However, the court postponed the murder case till October 5 for more investigations.
Kilian currently faces charges of murder, conspiracy to commit murder and the illegal interception of communications.
After his arrest was confirmed by Hawks, the security body further made it known that the possibility of more arrest can not be ruled out in this murder case.
Charl Kinnear was a lieutenant-colonel attached to the anti-gang unit.
He was shot dead outside his home last week.
During Kinnear’s memorial on Thursday, his boss, Major-General Andre Lincoln, promised that his killers are punished.
He made this known while addressing Kinnear’s wife.
“I want to assure you, Nikki, we will fight to the bitter end”, said Lincoln
