The land issue keeps sparking protest actions in several parts of SA.

The Ennerdale ward councillor, Danny Netnow, bothered by the increasing numbers of protest said that land issue in the south of Johannesburg had reached the heights of it as angry community members continued to protest over possible demolitions.

Ennerdale residents have also joined other communities in Lenasia south and Lawley in a protest against the demolition of illegal structures.

The demonstration started in the early hours of Monday morning.

Reports claims that these community members are angry over allegations that the city is bent on evicting illegal occupants.

Netnow explained that the issue on land had been prolonged for several years.

“This has become a very hot political potato. People who are illegal on a piece of land where there is no water or electricity, they have sacked the people of the township. They have set wires right across the land,” said Netnow.
