Ever smiling Lusindiso Malgas who makes use of funny placards to entertain passers-by in Blouberg receives help from a business consultant

The father of three was formerly a warehouse packer but lost his job during the coronavirus pandemic.

Malgas said his sense of humour got him through tough times.

“When I lost my job, I was like, what am I going to do? How am I going to survive?”

“All I know is how to make people laugh and how to talk to people. I had no choice but to work and put food on the table.”

A business consultant, Brendan Cottle was captivated with Malgas creativity.

He decided to launch a crowdfunding campaign to help Malgas save more money and help him achieve his dream and reunite with his children who are currently living with his parents.

Cottle was of the opinion that Lusindiso’s story could spread positivity to people all over the world.

“Seeing Lusindiso’s smile brightened up my morning commute and I know the same can be said for many others.”

“I am a very optimistic and positive person and when I saw Lu’s smile and happiness to do what he was doing, made me think about him and the situation of others, especially during the country lockdown,” Cottle said.

The fundraising goal is R250,000 and and over R34,000 have been raised from 130 donors both locally and internationally.
