Nerdy men are hot right now. They’re no longer the guys who are in the shadows, as they are now the information technology (IT) guys.
These guys not only prefer brains over vanity, but they are also the ones with the big bucks, as they tend to be in high-paying industries.
If we don’t count the athletes and the celebrities, normal geeky dudes who are living in the same city block as we do actually take home more money than most non-professional-athlete jocks.
So when considering whether to ignore that geeky neighbor of yours who seemingly does not have an active social life, think about these reasons first:
1. They are great in conversations
If you’re the type of girl who values great conversation over hot sex, then geeky dudes might be a good bet for you. I’m not saying the sex would be boring, that all depends on the nerd. If you put a higher value on long term over short term, I think being able to have meaningful conversations should trump steamy physical work outs any day.
You can present an argument to nerds, and I assure you they will have their own weirdly unique take on any situation, be it hypothetical or actual. Unlike when you ask a real life generic dude about what he thinks is the meaning of life where you’d probably get unimaginative answers.
2. Most of them have great sense of humor
A lot of these guys are shy, but once they feel comfortable around you, they will surprise you with dry wit, intelligent humor, and amusing candor. They can make you laugh out loud, literally. Most geeks take pride in having a sense of humor, and they can get competitive about it. They take the effort to make a girl laugh, because they know that’s a valuable edge to have.
3. They have more potential to give you a stable life
Even the ones who have failed in college have risen as one of the new geek gods of the decade. You think girls had any inkling that Facebook owner Mark Zuckerberg was going to be a freaking billionaire in only a few years?
At first glance, you may think that that a video-game-playing, fantasy/sci-fi-reading-loving nerd won’t have a lot going on for him, but you could be oh, so wrong. Geeks may not live their lives the way most people do, but they always surprise people when they actually prove they are extremely capable – which they silently are.
4. They take relationships more seriously
Not all men are alike, we know. Yet it usually takes a certain type of man to take relationships more seriously, and nerds are usually the types of dudes who will. They appreciate their women more, because deep inside, they are still amazed that a woman like you chose them. They are humble like that.
In their earlier years, most geeks don’t have any interest in dating and trying to look hot for the ladies. They’re usually too busy with their games and comic books for that.
6. They value loyalty more than most
We all value loyalty to a certain point, yet these men are more adamant and serious about it. It may be because they have always been loyal to their small amount of friends. It may even be because they have learned from various bullies at school that the more bullied you are, the closer you become with your fellow bully victims.
They have come to trust one another, and therefore have inculcated it into their own values, sometimes subconsciously, that loyalty is what makes a good person better.
7. They are intelligent, and they use that to adapt
Not all of them are book smart. A lot of these nerds are actually a bit street wise too. Not in an “I live in the ghetto” street-wise, but more like “I live on my own and have learned to adapt” kind of street-wise.
