Denosa says Masuku’s good work has been overshadowed by PPE scandal

The Democratic Nursing Organisation of South Africa (DENOSA) indicated that the good job of the axed Gauteng Health MEC, Bandile Masuku has been overshadowed by the PPE scandal.

Denosa is of the opinion that ever since Masuku became the Health MEC, the reputation of the Health department began to advance and improve.

This was after Gauteng Premier, David Makhura fired Masuku on Friday.

While addressing the media on Friday, Makhura made it known that the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) revealed that Dr Masuku had “failed to execute his functions in compliance with the constitution and the Public Finance Management Act”.

He said the Gauteng health MEC position will remain vacant until the investigation concludes.

However, Makhura noted that he’ll reinstate Masuku if the final SIU investigation clears him but Denosa says it wants Makhura to be more decisive and stop tiptoeing around issues.

The organisation says it’s in the interest of stability for the Gauteng health department.

Denosa’s special Provincial Executive Committee concluded on Saturday.
