President Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to present government’s economic reconstruction and recovery plan to the National Assembly and the National Council of Provinces in a virtual address on Thursday afternoon.
The medium term budget policy statement was postponed by the parliament on Thursday morning.
This was after Finance Minister Tito Mboweni appealed that the presentation be moved because pf the “complex and unusual circumstances” which is the Covid-19 pandemic in which the country is reeling from.
It was postponed to October 28.
Ramaphosa’s recovery plan is the result of extensive deliberation between government and its social partners, including business and labour.
