Manhunt launched for killers of Groblersdal Police Station commander

Following the brutal murder of a Groblersdal Police Station commander, Mpumalanga police activated a 72-hour plan in a bid to find those involved in the murder of the commander.

In the early hours of Saturday, an unknown gunman shot and killed Colonel Lebyane Jeffry Seroka in front of his house.


According to the authorities, the commander was attacked on his way back from a funeral.

He was accosted at his gate by unknown assailants in the early hours of yesterday morning.

A manhunt has been launched by the Mpumalanga police to fish out Colonel Seroka’s murderers.

The provincial police spokesperson Motlafela Mojapelo indicated that the police would not give up until the perpetrators were found.

“The police Dennilton have opened a case of murder after the station commander of Groblersdal was gunned down by unknown suspects in front of his gate.”

“The provincial commissioner of police in Limpopo, Lieutenant-General Nneke Ledwaba, has instructed that the killers be hunted down and brought to book.”

The suspects escaped the scene in the deceased’s car which was later found abandoned along Dennilton Road.
