On Monday, the Department of Health mentioned that work will keep on amidst the announcement of Minister Zweli Mkhize’s positive COVID-19 diagnosis.
Health Minister – Zweli Mkhize and his wife – Dr. May Mkhize are currently self-isolating themselves at their home, after the announcement that they had contracted the virus.
On Saturday, the minister was declared positive to COVID-19 after he showed some mild symptoms.
Department spokesperson Lwazi Manzi mentioned that they’ve been keeping in touch with him so far.
“The minister has a very capable team, has a very capable director-general. We are able to communicate with him virtually because he is not very sick and at this stage, to delegate responsibilities to an acting minister.”
