Some teachers at Vaal High School are currently being probed after allegations of sexual misconduct were laid against them.
A legal firm has been appointed by the Gauteng Education Department to investigate these sensitive claims that have been laid against some school staff including the principal at the school in Vanderbijlpark.
MEC Lesufi Panyaza disclosed that he has met with the school management after he received the report of sexual misconduct by the school officials.
The issue initially came to the limelight on social media when students tried to expose the matter.
The department’s spokesperson Steve Mabona said:
“We can confirm that after a report has been presented, a law firm must be appointed to investigate the circumstances.”
“And we are going to be giving them time to do their work and as soon as they are done, we will be able to be in a position to announce a way forward.”
