Two children drown in Port Elizabeth

The Police diving unit is urging parents to ensure their children’s safety when going to beaches and dams.

Two children have drowned in different incidents in Port Elizabeth.

The Police diving unit is beckoning on parents to make sure that the safety of their children should be a top priority when going to beaches and dams.


The 12-year-old boy was nowhere to be found while swimming in a dam at NU 12 in Motherwell.

In another incident, the body of a 16-year-old was gotten from a dam in Walmer.

The bodies were retrieved by the SAPS Diving Unit and the PE K9 Search and Rescue team.

However, police are probing into what caused these drownings.
