Members of the Enlightened Christian Gathering Church insist that their leader Shepherd Bushiri whom they refer to as “major one” has done nothing wrong,

They are of the belief that he would be set free.

Hawks arrested the self-proclaimed prophet, his wife Mary and their co-accused Landiwe Ntlokoane last week.

They are currently facing charges of fraud, theft and money laundering, amounting to R102 million.

The trio have been applying for bail at the Pretoria Magistrates Court.

Ever since his bail application began last week Friday, hundreds of Bushiri congregants gather in court to show support for him.

Some members came all the way from Limpopo, KwaZulu-Natal and Cape Town in his support.

A church member showed his full support for Bushiri:

“He is innocent, everything that is happening right now, it is God who is going to lift him up after this.”

Another said Bushiri should be freed so that he would be able to do God’s work:

“We need our mother, we need our father and we are here.”

The case against the trio was postponed to Friday for the continuation of their bail application.
