NPA says Wolseley murder suspect could face more charges

A man accused of allegedly killing several people in the rural town of Wolseley in the Western Cape made his first appearance in court on Tuesday.


Siyamnkela Sobambela was arrested after he was caught dragging the lifeless body of a woman on Saturday in Wolseley.

Two other bodies were later discovered in shallow graves in the area.

One was confirmed to be that of a female.

The 32-year-old resident of the Pine Valley informal settlement is currently facing three counts charges of murder.

The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) however disclosed that Sobambela is likely to get additional charges to his charge sheet as investigation continues.

Sobambela will continue to remain in custody as the case against him was postponed to December 9.
