South African TV personality, Anele Mdoda calls out Canadian rapper, The Weekend over GRAMMY 2021 snub.
Full list of nominees for the prestigious award was released this week, and as many musicians across the globe appreciated being nominated, the singer took to social media to speak of how corrupt the GRAMMY is.
The reason behind his confession is because he wasn’t nominated despite dropping songs which went global.
“The Grammys remain corrupt. You owe me, my fans and the industry transparency,” he tweeted.
“Collaboratively planning a performance for weeks to not being invited? In my opinion zero nominations = you’re not invited!” he added.
The Weekend happens to be hurt by the snub and some of his fans have tried to make him calm.
Taking to Twitter, Anele said he should stop acting like he is the first to be snubbed. “Art is tricky. Keep doing your art,” she added.
The Weekend is really behaving like he is the first artist to have great work be ignored by the GRAMMYS. Art is tricky. Keep doing your art.
