MTV Africa Music Awards (MAMA) 2021 has been announced to be postponed till further notice.
The event ought to hold in Kampala, Uganda on 20 February 2021.
However, the highly anticipated event won’t hold on the expected date, and no official reason has been given for such change.
According to a statement IOL received, it reads: “MTV Base is postponing the 2021 MTV Africa Music Awards. We will keep fans updated as we have more news.”
Media expert, Kgopolo Mphela revealed in a tweet that a source claimed the reason behind the postponement is due to political unrest in Uganda.
“Political unrest cited as cause by sources,” says the blogger.
