Rihanna has been called out by South Africans for using hit song, Midnight Starring as a soundtrack for advertising new Fenty Beauty product.
The American singer gets cancelled and has been accused of song theft, as her company refused acknowledging the owner of the song, DJ Maphorisa.
Busiswa who featured on the hit song reacted on Twitter, but South Africans are not pleased, as she appeared to be calm about the situation.
“Nah. @fentybeauty just used a REMAKE of Midnight Starring with my voice, to avoid paying us for it. I’m sad but it’s the game I guess,” Busiswa explained following a fan’s complaint.

Hence I said “US” ngqondo-ngqondo. It’s at least 8 fighters on that song but the sample on that vocal is ME. ONLY ME. Normalize assuming artists are not dumb 🥴🙄🙃 https://t.co/KNy9SyRpoV
