When we generally talk of exfoliating skin, we think about scrubs. But you can effectively exfoliate your skin without using scrub.

Yes, you heard it right, I said without using a scrub. Exfoliation takes your skin from something good to extraordinarily radiant.

So the basic idea to exfoliate your skin without a scrub is to get the same results like what you get from using one.

There are thousands of products that claim to remove all the debris and dead cells from the skin, but at the same time, they can be harmful or too harsh.

Below are 7 ways to exfoliate without using scrub.

1. Honey

Honey is one among those natural ingredients that can help to remove dead cells from the skin. Honey is naturally antimicrobial, which makes it an effective cleanser on its own. You can take some honey in your hands and then massage your nose and face with it. Raw honey contains gluconic acid, a mild alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that brightens the complexion, evens out skin tone, and lightens scars and age spot.

2. Exfoliating gloves

This time give your gloves a try! Instead of switching to exfoliating scrubs, you can use the exfoliating gloves. If you’ve got dry skin, you need to skip the exfoliating gloves. Also, remember if you have flaky skin, rubbing with exfoliating gloves can give you itching. So, at first use them without rubbing the skin vigorously.

3. Sponge

Sponge also works as a great exfoliant. You can dip the sponge in warm water for some time and the use it on the skin. Sponges have the capacity to remove the dead cells without using a cleanser too. You must use sponge twice a day, and sometime you can use it every alternative day.

4. Body peels

The lactic and glycolic acids present in body peels help to remove the dead cell. They work well on breakouts and flaky skin too. Apart from this, body peels also help to open up the clogged pores and also help to shrink their size. If you have acne on body, you can try and test the body peel on a small patch.

5. Exfoliating body lotion

Once you get habituated with using exfoliating body lotion, then you would never use the scrub. Exfoliating body lotions contain gentle AHAs that help get rid of those interfering flakies, and moisturize.

6. Dry brushing

You can opt for dry brushing too. You work in light, circular motions, beginning at your feet and moving upward to the heart; the process helps to stimulate lymphatic drainage. Also your skin appears to be more smooth and soft after dry brushing. The most important thing to consider here is try to choose a brush that has soft bristles. Stay away from hard and irritating bristles.

7. Rolling exfoliators

Although this works on all skin types, people who have acne scars on face are benefitted the most. Rolling exfoliators help to stimulate the production of collagen. Every time you use a roller on your skin you are creating thousands of microscopic channels through the skin, increasing the formation of new tissue by activating the body’s wound healing cascade.
