The Red Ants company dismiss claim of ditching late Senzo Meyiwa’s daughter, Namhla.
Early this month of September, Senzo’s mother & Namhla’s guardian, Ntombifuthi Meyiwa, told Daily Sun that the football team has given up on taking care of the child.
“The Red Ants have been taking care of Namhla financially since 2020. But this month they failed to donate. When I contacted them, they told me Johan is dead and they were not going to pay because he’s no more.
“Johan’s financial assistance was everything to Namhla. His death has killed her dreams. I don’t know what to do. As it is, Namhla has no money for transportation to school,” the gogo said, seeking help from any good Samaritan.
However, a representative of the company visited the gogo in Umlazi, south of Durban, on the 22nd of September.
Company spokesman Oupa Radebe said: “During our visit, we established that the gogo’s phone had a problem. It didn’t report that money had been deposited. In actual fact, the money was deposited into her account on 9 September.”
“We wanted to reassure the gogo that we are still going to assist Namhla,” he said.
However, Ntombifuthi said she’s yet to receive the money, and she will be checking the back to know the issue.
