We all love looking glam for the gram, (and in real life).
However, when our beauty routine starts to affect the quality of our skin or health, then we have to be more observant of the things we do in our makeup routine.
There are some things you need to be mindful of when doing your makeup and here are 6 of them.
1. You do not let your foundation dry
So when you are doing your makeup with liquid foundation it is important to let the foundation dry before adding on your concealer or any other product. If you do not leave it to dry, you would not get the amount of coverage that you desire.
2. You sleep with makeup on
This is one of the worst things you can do to your skin because makeup can be comedogenic. When a beauty product is comedogenic, it has the tendency to clog your pores and cause you to have pimples. Ensure that you wash your face properly at night no matter how tired you are.
3. You don’t wash your make up brushes regularly
If you have the best skincare routine and you are still wondering why you keep getting acne, then you should probably take a look at how you care for your makeup brushes. You ought to wash your makeup brushes weekly if you use them every day in order to avoid the transfer of bacteria.
4. You wear makeup every day
You need to give your skin time to breathe and repair itself. If you wear makeup every day, you are putting your skin at risk of getting more acne. It can also make your face duller and oilier. Ensure that you take time off from wearing makeup, or at least, full coverage makeup.
5. You wear expired makeup
The makeup has an expiry date for a reason. If you are using a product that you know is expired please stop. This is very harmful to your skin and even though it does not look so now, it would manifest later.
Also, if you have not or do not check your makeup product for the expiry date, you probably should start doing so. Ensure that you check your products when buying them so that you do not waste your money on an expired product.
6. You test too many products
If you are trying out new products, try to space them out. Do not test more than one complexion or skin product at a time. This would help you to know if your skin really agrees with the product or not.
Testing too many products can cause you to have a reaction if the products don’t work well together.
