When it comes to hair care, there are many home remedies that can come to our rescue.

If you are on TikTok, you must have noticed the trend of people rinsing their hair with apple cider vinegar.

Before you hop on to the trend, let’s find out if this is actually worth a try.

It is said that apple cider vinegar helps in defrizzing hair and also helps in cleansing your hair.

How is it done?

According to some international professional experts, apple cider vinegar (ACV) is used as an alternative to shampoo. It can help by washing away all the grime stuck to the hair or scalp without removing the colour out of your hair.

Benefits of ACV rinsing

ACV is said to be a fantastic ingredient for hair care. It has Vitamin B, folic acid, Vitamin C and can also help in removing dullness and frizz.

The best part is it is good for all hair types.

Caution

Before you jump straight into using pure ACV to rinse your hair, be careful. Home ACV is an astringent and can be harsh for hair, when used alone. It has to be mixed with conditioning natural ingredients to retain its goodness and also make it softer and smoother on the scalp. You will find some products online or at stores.

If you wish to use home ACV, make sure you mix 3 tablespoons with at least 4 cups of water.

How much is too much

The apple cider vinegar rinse is gentle but that does not mean that you overdo it. It is basically a cleanser which keeps your hair’s natural oils intact which often get washed away with the use of a shampoo.
