Generally, we do a hell lot of remedies like facials, scrubbing, and massage treatments to get a glowing look but, when it comes to the neck, we often don’t take enough care.

As a result, the skin around our neck is noticeably darker than the surrounding skin.

Just like our skin on the face our neck also gets almost the same amount of exposure. This type of darkening of the skin in certain areas is known as hyperpigmentation.

A hormonal condition known as Acanthosis Nigricans can also cause darkening of the skin around the neck. For these conditions, a diagnosis from the doctor is required.

However, if the diagnosis confirms that the pigmentation is not due to hormonal causes and it is due to sun exposure and lack of hygiene, then you can follow the below-given home remedies to lighten the dark skin on your neck.

1. Aloe vera gel for dark neck

Aloe vera rich in antioxidants lighten the skin by inhibiting the activity of the enzyme that causes pigmentation of the skin. It even keeps the skin hydrated and nourished.

How to use: Take a fresh aloe vera leaf and cut the leaf open and rub the aloe vera gel directly on to your neck. Gently massage and let it sit for twenty minutes and then rinse with cold water. You can follow this remedy regularly.

2. Apple cider vinegar for dark neck

Apple cider vinegar tends to balance the pH level of the skin. The presence of malic acid removes dead skin cells and gives your skin a natural glow.

How to use: Take two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and four tablespoons of water and mix them well. Next, take a cotton ball, dip it in the solution and apply it around your neck. Leave it on for ten minutes and rinse it off with water. For the best results, you can do this every day.

3. Baking soda for dark neck

If you want to get rid of dead skin cells then baking soda can work as a wonder ingredient. Baking soda is very helpful in removing dirt and nourishing your skin from within.

Once it dries, use wet fingers to scrub it off and then rinse with water. You can repeat this every day to see the desired results. Don’t forget to moisturize after using baking soda.
