Ocimum gratissimum, popularly known as Scent leaf, clove basil, African basil, and in Hawaii as wild basil, is a species of Ocimum.


A lot of people use scent leaf in preparation of their meals and it is even used in preparation of certain local juice.

This is because some believe that scent leaf truly has some benefits to the body. Truth be told, aside from the amazing scent of scent leaf, it has enormous benefits to the human benefits, many are still strangers to.

Studies have shown that scent leaf is rich in vitamin A, a vitamin that is needed for the retina of the eyes. Without the presence of this vitamin to the body, it leads to night blindness.
