Unathi Nkayi will reportedly take a break from being an Idols SA judge, but there’s a twist in the story, as her exit will see the return of the viewers’ favourite judge, Somizi Mhlongo.
Months ago in 2021, Som was relieved of his duty on his show due to the abuse allegation made against him from his former husband, Mohale Motaung.
Unathi will not also be part of the coming season 18 which will be starting this month, and will be allegedly forced out of the show after making false accusations against radio personality, Sizwe Dhlomo.
Meanwhile, she’s been fired by Johannesburg radio station Kaya 959 in November.
City Press confirmed Som’s return.
“So he will be making a return this season after he was given a break last year (2021) to sort out his personal issues.”
